Against-fire
Portugal has been hit by forest fires every summer. The years 2003 and 2005 were the darkest of the past 25 years: the addition of both is equivalent of 22,2 % of the whole burned area in the referred 25 years. In 2005, 65% of the burned area corresponded to inhabited places. From all universe of causes (natural, accidental, negligent use of fire, intentional and indeterminated), 62,8% corresponds to the addition of the intentional and indeterminated, 26,8% to negligent use of fire, and only 2,2% are natural causes.
