Alexandre Almeida

Was born in Lisbon in 1969 and lives in Azeitão. Has shown interest in image since an early age. After concluding a course on Cine-Video Production he worked as a production assistant. He was later direction assistant at Graça Fonseca Gallery. Worked with the newspaper O Independente after concluding the course of photography. His work has a documental approach, which he has been deepen while widening the experimentalism to other frames besides photography. He collaborates at the moment with a number of national and international publications.
Nasceu em Lisboa em 1969 e vive em Azeitão. Desde cedo demonstrou o interesse pela imagem. Cursou Produção de Cine-Vídeo, tendo posteriormente trabalhado como assistente de produção. Mais tarde foi assistente de direcção na Galeria Graça Fonseca. Concluiu o curso de fotojornalismo e passou a trabalhar n'O Independente. O seu trabalho reveste-se de um cariz documental, que tem vindo a aprofundar, alargando o experimentalismo a outros suportes para além da fotografia. Actualmente colabora com diversas publicações nacionais e estrangeiras.
